Chalet-2

Below are a few of the comments we have received that will give you a flavour of what you can expect

We have been fortunate enough to stay at L’Aire de L’Aigle during both winter and summer. The chalet is simply stunning effortlessly combining quality and luxury with a warm homely feel. It’s location is spectacular yet still within easy reach of all amenities whether summer hiking/cycling or winter skiing. Preferring to holiday late season we have experienced some of the best April ski conditions I can remember and the summers seem to roll on well into September. It really is a very special place and superb family retreat.  The Pullen Family

On our drive up the mountain we were somewhat disappointed to find it was raining in Morzine, however, as we headed up the hill to L’Aire de L’Aigle that rain turned to snow, so we arrived to the classic ‘Winter Wonderland’! The chalet is incredibly spacious, the views are so spectacular that if you don’t want to spend all day skiing it is the most glorious place to hang out! As I am not such a keen skier, I often walked down the path through the woods into Morzine to meet the children, after a hot chocolate we would then hop on a bus (they run every hour) and stops outside the chalet. In the evenings the children had great fun playing table tennis. On our last evening we walked 150m to a fantastic Alpine restaurant and ate the best cheese fondue I have ever tasted! Georgina Taylor

The only thing not perfect about this chalet is that it does not belong to us! Everything about it is second to none from the beautiful aspect, to the stunning design, well appointed kitchen with walk in larder and glorious open plan living area with breathtaking views across the mountains. The attention to detail is notable, and of a type that you only really get when the owners live in and love the chalet as these do. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable with lovely ensuites and in the case of the master, a fabulous walk in shower and vast sunken bath. We were a group of 3 families including 10 children ranging in age from 5 to 16. There really was something for everyone. A full range of games and toys on the mezzanine about the living area for the little ones, and a basement games room for the rowdy boys, big enough for them to let off what steam they had left after a day’s skiing, out of earshot! Access to the slopes is via the shuttle bus which stops just past the end of the drive, and as its the end of the line, there is never a problem getting a seat in the morning. There are several restaurants within walking distance, one of which we sampled on the first day we arrived and which was lovely. We were planning to visit them all, being new to the self catering ski holiday, but the kitchen was so pleasant to use and the dining area accommodated us all around the impressive trestle table, so we never did! Nobody wanted to leave this chalet to go home! And the upshot of what was pronounced “the best ski holiday ever” is that we have been totally spoiled and cannot possibly hope to find a chalet to match – so we’re back next year and probably for as many future years as the owners will have us! Ashley Harrison

We have stayed at L’Aire de L’Aigle twice and have no hesitation in recommending it. The beautiful traditional style chalet is sited at the end of a quiet valley above Morzine with stunning views of the mountains. Access to the resort and slopes by a shuttle bus could not be easier and as the pick-up point is the first stop (25m from the door!) a seat for the short journey is guaranteed. The accommodation is very spacious and of the highest quality and our large family group (14) could all sit down for dinner or lounge around in complete comfort. When the sun shines taking an aperitif on the balcony and drinking in the view is quite delightful. On a practical note the kitchen is extremely well equipped and (I am told) is a pleasure to cook in, while the larder won accolades from our chefs. As for the boot room it is large with boot warmers and drying cupboard and coped with our large group. The transfer time from Geneva is very acceptable at about 11/2 hours and Morzine has good supermarkets and many restaurants. John Harvey

A superb luxury chalet in a fantastic setting with stunning views. The chalet has excellent facilities throughout and is large and very comfortable. We have stayed on a number of occasions in both winter and summer and would highly recommend it for a family, group or corporate holiday. We have stayed in many types of accommodation in ski resorts all over the world and this is up there amongst the best. The Longhi family

This is a beautiful place to stay. Whatever your expectations based on the website descriptions and photos, the reality will exceed them – the quality of the building, architecture and attention to detail is fantastic. We have been fortunate to stay at the chalet several times and its a very comfortable and relaxing place after a hard day on the slopes or in the mountains. The house is thoughtfully laid out providing plenty of space for children to disappear and amuse themselves with stunning views of the mountains from the huge glass ‘wall’ that dominates the middle floor of the chalet. Although the nearby town of Morzine can provide plenty of entertainment, its equally tempting to simply chill out in front of the huge fire recounting stories about the infamous Morzine Bear. The Hollister family

The attention to detail within the Chalet is incredible. Breathtaking taking views all around with fantastic skiing to stretch all of us. Ness McVitty

A truly stunning chalet with all the mod cons you could possibly want and a few you hadn’t realised you needed! A spectacular location in a very pretty French village, we would love to go back! The Fowle Family
