The chalet is perfect for those who want to enjoy the mountains but also to relax-it’s a stunning setting. You are away from the tourists in town and in the peace of a beautiful valley.
Parents of young children can bring them home after a morning’s lessons and let them play on sledges in the garden, or make a snowman or let them practise their skiing outside. And the chalet is full of children’s games and Playmobil.
If you’re not skiing then you can walk out the front door and up the snowy track towards the Terres Maudits and then stop on the way down for lunch or a drink at the Crapahutte mountain restaurant. And if you would like to walk higher, hire some snow shoes and set off to explore the mountains.
Have you ever tried Ski de Fond? We have a track right outside the chalet that meanders up through the forest.
The Vallée de La Manche is a popular location for Ski Randonnée. Leave the chalet and walk up into the mountains on your skis and then ski back through virgin powder. Local guides can show you the best routes.
For the experienced skier you have arguably the best off piste run in the whole of the Portes du Soleil on your doorstep. Take the Fornet lift above Avoriaz and drop down into the valley that will eventually lead you to the front door of the chalet. You must take a guide the first time.
But you really know that you are somewhere very special when, on a clear night, you are surrounded by nothing other than moonlit mountains and forest and you have that very important pre dinner glass of wine in your hand.
